Alex Brill is the founder and CEO of Matrix Global Advisors (MGA), an economic consulting firm based in Washington, DC. Alex is also a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute, a public policy think tank where he studies health policy, tax policy and other public finance and public health matters.
Previously, Alex was the policy director and chief economist for the Committee on Ways and Means in the United States Congress where he directed policy development and led negotiations on a variety of tax, health, pension, and trade matters. Prior to his time on Capitol Hill, he served on the staff of the White House Council of Economic Advisers.
Alex has testified numerous times before Congress and has served as an expert witness and litigation consultant in both tax and pharmaceutical patent litigations. He has written and consulted on macroeconomic matters, tax reform issues, and numerous health policy matters including drug competition, drug pricing, reimbursement, disease management, and the economic consequences of obesity and obesity mitigation.
Alex has published two short books on tax matters, appears frequently as a commentator on CNBC and other news outlets and has published over 150 opinion articles and over 75 research articles.
