How Intel through technology helps to fight climate change
Todd Brady, Director, Global Public Affairs & Sustainability Intel Corporation, discusses Intel’s RISE 2030 goals .The Rise initiative is comprised of 4 pillars: Responsibility, inclusiveness, sustainability and engagement . These 4 themes have great potential of impact on issues such as – the digital divide, the importance of reducing the carbon footprint while increasing the technological handprint at the same time And the social challenge of just representation of diverse population in the workforce.
Intel’s RISE strategy thrives to increase the scale of work Intel does with others to create a more responsible, inclusive, and sustainable world, enabled through technology and collective actions. A leading example is intel’s water positive initiative which aims to restore water usage coming in and going out of factories back to nature – this is an open call for other companies and ngos to join in
Todd Brady and Intel’s vision highlight the hi tech sector’s contribution to societal and environmental challenges: smart buildings, safe transportation, carbon reduction and smart agriculture.
According to Brady, this is only the beginning and there are many more opportunities to enter the ESG and sustainability field.
